I watched The Phantom of the Opera with my dear last Saturaday night. I must say the show was really good. The props, the effects, the acting and the singing.. You can tell (even if you're not an expert in that area) that this show is at the world level. I watched Saturday Night Fever (my first musical!) and I was really impressed then. But comparing to this, this is like a few steps ahead. No wonder the show was a sold-out every night. No photography though, so no photo for you. Hehe.

Wow, I have not updated my blog for more than a month now. For your info, QJ has left for UK last Sat. I didn't get to say farewell. But I'll drop an email soon. He seemed to be very busy towards his departure date. Correction: He is always busy anytime anywhere. Haha.

Confirmed sleepover with Baya and Yan darlings this Sat at my house. My mum has been nagging non-stop at the maid nowadays. Am wondering if the 2 bims will be alright with it. I still jump whenever I hear raised voices and flinch at my mum's sharp words. But my maid is definitely someone who can drive anyone crazy. Her recent most disasterous accident was leaving the chicken stew heat up until there was no liquid (gravy) left and the bottom of the pot all charred. The whole house stink of burnt smell and she was in the kitchen (or at least on the first floor) all along.

The fire was medium to high, and she reasoned that she wanted the chicken stew (which required no heating in the first place) to boil faster. When you're expecting something to boil faster shouldn't you be waiting by the fire then. She claimed that she forget. Well, my sister and I were in our bedrooms upstairs with the air-con on. So we couldn't smell anything yet. It was 11 plus at night and the moment my parents reached home, my mum was asking about the burnt smell. Then the maid remembered the stew. We couldn't find out for how long the stew was heated. But it was definitely too long. The gravy level was more than one-quarter of the pot. All boiled off.

It seems my family will continue to have maid problem with this current one. We pitied her because of the high loan the agency imposes on her. And we've been teaching her everyday. But everyday she forgets something. A few months ago, she kept one piece of fried chicken inside her room (on the shelf) and forgot about it until the whole thing was infested with maggots. You figure out how long that is man. My mum kept smelling something foul inside her room but she insisted that there wasn't anything. Until one day my mum has to take something from the cupboard above her bed, and saw something moved on the wall.

The maid got a sound scolding. And we tried not to give her too much food and snacks from then on. And everytime I walk pass her I will remind her not to keep food in her room. But after that incident she still keep food in her room and was found out twice more by my mum. The latest one involved some unrecognizable black gooey stuffs inside a plastic bag that the maid herself cannot recall what it was. Again, there were worms inside.

I can understand the stress my mum is having. And I suspect the maid is younger than 23. Those maid agencies are really just out for money.
