Wrong. Woman's health still clashes. My timetable is so.. urgh. Never mind. I'll take comfort in the fact that Organic Chemistry lab is on alternate week. Now still wondering if I should take a sixth module. Afraid I can't cope. Anyway, my modules this semester are:
Organic Chemistry for Engineers
Fundamentals of Biochemistry
Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics
Fluid Mechanics
Equilibrium Stage Separations
Tell me, does any of the above sounds interesting to you? Oh, I'm so excited for the next semester already.
Okay, maybe not so bad. I cannot behave like this towards my own course right.

Monday, July 25, 2005I can't believe I woke up at 1300 hr today. That's 11 hours of sleep. Goodness. School is starting in two weeks' time. And this semester all my five days are early days. I better practise to get up early if I am to attend any lessons at all.
Ok, I'm going to complain about the same thing again. So you can close your eyes and stop reading the next few sentences heh. Why must school be so far away? Why? It's one and a half hours' of journey. HORRIBLE. Urgh. I have two 8 o'clock days. And my modules this semester.. Sigh. It couldn't be worse. Okay, so I don't know what they are about yet. But the names are too chim for it to be anything interesting.
I want to take Chinese 2 this semester but my timetable is just so uncooperative. What is it I hear about the advantage of being in NUS is that you get to choose your own timetable and thus learn to be independent? Hah? I received my timetable like two weeks ago. And I didn't have a say in any of it. Boo hoo.
I have to take an interesting sixth module that can motivate me to go to school. Thanks to the uncooperative timetable, I can now choose between two modules: Heavenly mathematics: cultural astronomy and Woman's health. What should I take? Heavenly mathematics has lectures at 1800 to 2000 twice a week and does not clash with my timetable at all. (Hello, how could it still clash? with that unearthly hour for lecture?) and woman's health does not clash because it has weird timing like 1300 to 1500. Most lectures have even timing like 1200 to 1400, 1400 to 1600, etc, such that even if it does not clash I will die from having lectures back to back.
The downside to heavenly maths is that it means I will get home at 2130 twice a week. As for woman's health, well, it is an interesting and necessary knowledge but to have to study for it for exam.. I don't think so. Visualizing myself in exam hall trying to write an essay on "Why women have menopause?" - shudder.

Sunday, July 17, 2005No more relief teaching for me. My teacher said she has found one relief teacher who can stay throughout the time that the school needs relief. I can only stay till the 8th of August which is the day my school term starts. I was a bit disappointed when she told me about that. Firstly, because she has made me believe that I will really be doing relief at the school despite being inexperienced. Secondly, I have even made the effort to go down to the school and sit in during 4 lessons altogether to observe her teaching and hopefully learn from her.
On the other hand though, I'm quite relieved as well. I was rather afraid of not doing well. I can't be fierce now (I could last time). And I really don't want to be bullied by secondary two kids. Oh well, guess it's for the better.
Oh, school starting soon. I need to do some tyding up. Probably will need to clear my cabinet so I can put new books comes next semester. I don't know what to do with my year 1 notes though, should I just throw them away? Feels quite sayang. And I also need to donate some old clothes to the Salvation Army. They're in good condition still just that they have become smaller.

Friday, July 15, 2005My relatives have gone back to Medan yesterday morning. Sobs. I miss them already. Managed to contain my tears yesterday when we said farewell. I will go back to visit them soon. My cousins have grown up and they are so pretty. But somehow they'll always be like kids to my sis and me.

Thursday, July 07, 2005Oh, I forgot to complain how smoky it was inside the pubs. Such that my hair still smell of cigarette smoke after I washed it. I noticed it straight after I got out of the shower. If it was not because I was rushing I would have gone in to wash my hair one more time or two. So I went around town with my hair smell like that for one day. Even went for tuition. Hope my student didn't smell it. Yucks.
I can't understand how people can smoke indoors. Man, how do they survive? Half of the time I was trying to enjoy myself despite the smoky atmosphere, the other half I was worrying about the smoke getting into my eyes. I'm not paranoid. I know we have eyelashes to prevent dust from getting into the eyes. But it's still very possible, especially cause the smoke is intense. And for contact lens wearer like myself, that can be a very painful business if it happens. Thank goodness the smokers are not the dancers. If not either they'll die choking on the dance floor or I'll die suffocated first.

Wednesday, July 06, 2005Went clubbing two nights in a row. This is definitely a first time for me. I really do envy those who can club often. Okay, maybe those people do not dance a lot. The live music was so loud you can feel your whole body beating with it. But on the second night I got used to it somehow and I feel rather alright. There was no buzzing in the ear like on the first night.
For those who are wondering how come I go clubbing.. Well, let me tell you I went to club with two aunts, an uncle, and a cousin (who is under age but we bluff our way in) on the first night and I went with my sister, my parents and my aunt the second night. Both nights I only had fruit punch. Even though I will like to try more fanciful drinks with names like "Screaming multiple orgasms". Rather cool right. Maybe one day I'll try. I hope I won't panic and say it as "Screaming multiple organism" when I order.
Anyway, dancing can be very tiring. I'm used to practising for long hours yes. But I usually cut down on the energy level and only go the full 100% at rehearsal or performance, which is usually about 5 mins to 10 max. And to have a great time on the dancing floor you need a partner whom you can do the funny, embarrassing, or the fancy dance moves with. I'm not complaining really. I have a good time dancing with my mum and aunt. I'm just stating what I observe around me on the dance floor. :) There were these two ladies who were doing some partner dance moves and they seem to be enjoying very much. But they were a bit too close to each other and the dance moves were.. well, very very suggestive. I couldn't help wondering if they were a couple (you get what I mean). I wonder, will guys be turn on watching two girls doing those suggestive moves or will they get turned off instead?
