Ahh.. What a day of good food. For lunch, I was brought to this place called Jackson Miller to have buffet. Strange western food they have there, you know, those with names you can't even pronounce. But it's the taste that's important. Come to think of it, it wasn't that delicious actually. Maybe the atmosphere of the whole place, being such a high-class place and all that, kinda make you think you're eating good food. Anyhow, I'm enjoying it. And beside the buffet, my mum ordered me an ala carte : a goose liver.
Looks good, doesn't it?
Then for dinner, I went to Silver Shell Cafe at Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort, Sentosa. And yup, I had another buffet. Everything on the serving table looked good. And of course, the food tasted as good as it looked. I ate till my stomach couldn't contain anything more. Ah.. Perhaps this is what utter bliss feels like.

Wednesday, May 26, 2004My sis got into NUS, FASS. Woo hoo!! Feel so happy for her. She cried when she got rejected by NUS Music. But it's tough competition there. Now she's going NUS too. Silly her, only applied to NUS and put one choice. Makes my mother and herself worry with each passing day that NUS didn't give a reply.

Monday, May 24, 2004Whoa!! Watch out for Troy spoiler here.. don't read if you haven't watched and are going to watch it. Sincere apology to Chee seng and Shu.
Watched Troy today. A good show. A pity Brad Pitt character (Archillis, Arcillis, Archilis.. oh, God knows how to spell his name) had to die. Sobs. And that Hectar too (argh, don't know how to spell this one either). I guess it was probably for the best. The show has to send the message that WAR doesn't have a happy ending!! I wish Bush and Osama and all the evil people in this world can get the message.
Anyway, why was that Paris guy still alive in the end? and why did Brad Pitt has to die in his hands? At least he deserved to die in the hands of someone great, being such a strong warrior that he is. So charming and handsome too. And his love for the girl (I'm not going to start spelling her name), oh.. makes every girl swoon. Haha.

Sunday, May 23, 2004Went to China Jump to watch SAF-NS Idol after class outing yesterday. Ended up reach home at one a.m and got scolded. Sigh. Tell me, which other going-to-be-21 years old get scolded for staying out till one?
It's not that I want to be "free" or completely without my parents' control (well, who doesn't anyway?). But this is like probably the second time I came home past midnight? The first time was because of the campfire during NJ first orientation! I'm not asking for a total freedom, which I'm probably entitled to by the way. Just that there's absolutely no need to make a fuss out of this. I can take care of myself. I know what I'm doing. And it's not as if I'm becoming wild or something.

Wednesday, May 19, 2004Is it me or is it really hot in here? Each morning I wake up with an urge to jump into the swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool. With cute waiters nearby to take your order, and your girlfriends beside you, chatting and gossiping, planning for the next shopping trip. Yeah, that will be nice. I must be dreaming.

Sunday, May 16, 2004It feels so good being with the class yesterday, even though there were only six of us (ilda went home early, yanti and koonyen are dancing and can't be with us). Really looking forward to the class gathering next Saturday. Yay!!

Friday, May 14, 2004Went to ICA building today to get an extension on my stay here in Singapore. Yes, I'm in danger of becoming an illegal immigrant. The officer took so long to check the documents. He was practically checking for spelling mistakes in my names as well as other dates and numbers. Well, but he gave me a two-month extension on the spot. Usually the officer will keep your documents first then ask you to come back the next day to collect your passport (which has already been chopped for extension). I guess they're improving on their efficiency, which is a good thing because it saves me the hassle of making another trip :)
College day tomorrow. Should I wear skirt?
This week is definitely a movie week for me. Watched 8 movies so far. Monday - 4 movies at yan's house. Tuesday - went to cinema with my sis to watch Please teach me English - I'm quite crazy about Korean comedy at the moment. Wednesday - watched Cheaper by the dozen dvd then Pride and Prejudice tape, a very good classic, really worth watching. Thursday - watched Magic Kitchen, what a waste of time, maybe it's due to bad dubbing.
Today - going to watch Peter Pan vcd, while munching on snacks of course. Haha.. Good thing my house's only weighing machine is spoilt. If not I'll be at it everyday and I'm sure whatever I see is going to spoil my eating mood.
Talking about machine, my room's air-con is spoilt. It's running but it's giving no cool air and worse, it's giving out hot air at times. But sleeping with the window open is not an option cause there're just too many insects (note:insects, not just mosquitos). And what's the use? There's no wind at all with the neighbour's house less than 2 metres away, blocking everything except the super bright and hot sunset. And the ceiling fan.. Well (coughing), I spoilt it. It's because of Mr Tay and his silly dance moves. I was jumping around immitating his steps to show my sister. Then my hand hit..the metal pulley (you know, the fan controller, I have no idea what it's called) which bounced to the fan and got caught. My dad managed to get the thing off the fan but that means the fan got no controller now. And it's just fate that it is stuck to the lowest volume (slowest spin, whatever). Alright, alright, it's my fault. Urgh.

Monday, May 10, 2004Hey, Blogger has a new look now. Even the ad tag is different. Hmmm.. Quite a few people changed their blogs' template recently. Wonder if I should too, kind of bored with mine. Hehe. Maybe wait a little longer, until my blog is six-month-old. Then I can make changing template a twice yearly event.
Today was fun. Went Yanti's house to watch vcds. There were Yanti (of course), Siti, Shuyin, Ilda and me - five of us eating and drinking and talking and watching. We watched 4 shows. Not bad huh. It's good to be slacking around in your friend's house once in a while. Especially when your friend's house has got lots of food. Haha.. kidding. Yanti baked brownies for us all by herself, so nice of her, thank you darling. Can't remember if Ilda or Shu helped.
Next we're going to go Shu's house to swim. Yay! But I feel a bit awkward wearing swimsuit in front of friends. Cause my swimsuit a bit revealing (in my standard). Shu, can we wear a T-shirt over the swimsuit?

Thursday, May 06, 2004Received my first month's pay as a tutor yesterday. Yay..!! Feeling happy even though it's only half month's pay cause the other half goes to the agent who got me the job. What to do? Other people have to make a living too. Some other agents would have asked for one month's pay as commission.
Hmm.. actually the real first pay is the $20 that boy gave for the first lesson. $20 for two hours, I'm underpaid!! Haha.. but I don't mind actually. Ok, shall use the money to treat my mum to buffet on mother's day (and my dad too).
Leicester's letter came only yesterday - many weeks later than the date they should reply me. Got a 50% reduction in tuition fees. A lousy 50%. Where am I going to raise the other 50%, rob the bank? To be honest, even if they offerred me a 100% reduction in tuition fees I will not be going. I needed their reply badly to help me make my decisions then, but they chose to dilly dally. Now I have already given my reply to NUS and kinda made up my mind. Figure I better stick to it. More over, Leicester doesn't have the course I want. And somehow Imperial has captured my heart. Sigh.
